FORMAK Financial Information

FORMAK hosted our first ever 5K in June 2022 with over 1,000 people in attendance. FORMAK set a record for the largest 5K in Wyoming history! What an overwhelmingly supportive response from our sponsors, donors, community members, friends and family. In 2022, with our 5K, back to school pledge drive, and miscellaneous donations, FORMAK raised over $161,000!  Our annual expenses were only $11,000, which is less than 7% of the money raised. As a result, FORMAK has funds available to start getting the much-needed improvements made to keep our kids safe, and FORMAK is not letting grass grow under our feet either. FORMAK has already committed $57,060.00 to the City of Cheyenne as a matching contribution for a WYDOT Transportation Alternatives Program Grant. This will fund two HAWK systems, like the one on Yellowstone Road in front of Davis Elementary, for both McCormick Junior High on Western Hills Boulevard and Baggs Elementary on Pershing and McCann Avenue. In addition, FORMAK has committed $13,136.81 to the Metropolitan Planning Organization to go along with a second Transportation Alternatives Program Grant that will complete an update to the Safe Routes to School Plan for all 33 publicly funded LCSD1 schools. The last update was completed in 2010, and our community has grown and seen a lot of changes since then. This study will provide us with a road map of what improvements need to be made and what the expected costs will be. FORMAK is excited that soon we will start to see improvements made in our community that will help keep our kids safe, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support or our sponsors and event participants.

To continue honoring the memory of Mak, our third annual FORMAK 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the South Lion’s Park Pavilion. FORMAK’s intention is to raise funds to assist with more improvements, to stay involved in the process to make sure the work is moving forward, and above all else, to make sure our school crosswalks are as safe as possible so that what happened to Mak, will never happen again. FORMAK feels passionately that we as a community can make positive changes to improve the safety of those we hold so dear, our children.
